Emma is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher and mat Pilates instructor
Movement has always been at the center of my life. As a lifelong athlete and former collegiate runner, I found myself inspired by the challenge of competition. For years, I was captivated by the discipline that sport required, and the strength it fostered physically and mentally.
But in 2017, everything shifted. I relocated to Nairobi, Kenya and began working at a local non-profit, Africa Yoga Project. Immersed in yoga and Nairobi’s vibrant fitness community, I discovered movement as more than performance. Over time, I learned to slow down as yoga revealed a beautiful duality within movement: strength and stillness, challenge and ease. What began as a way to push my body evolved into something much deeper: a practice of connection, healing, and community.
Since then, I’ve taught in studios around the world, sharing my love for mindful, intentional movement. My work in the boutique fitness and wellness space has taken me from Siem Reap, Cambodia, to Washington, DC, and Boston, before ultimately bringing me to New York City, where I’m now based. Along the way, I earned a graduate degree in International Relations, giving me a global perspective on the ways culture, community, and wellbeing intersect.
Today, the path I’ve traveled shapes the heart of my teaching. My classes invite awareness, move with the rhythm of breath, and welcome anyone seeking a deeper connection to themselves. In every flow, pause, and moment of stillness, I hope to offer a space where strength softens, ease emerges, and your own story with movement can unfold.
